Manager, Operations Support Services

 

Primary Function: The job of Non-School Custodian is done for the purpose/s of maintaining an attractive, sanitary, safe facility; providing equipment and furniture arrangements; and minimizing property damage, loss, and liability exposure to the school district.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

1. Educational Level:

High School Diploma/GED preferred

2. Experience:

Job experience is preferred

3. Physical Activities:

Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities; Lifts up to 30 pounds unassisted; performs work at heights of up to 12 feet using ladders and/or scaffolding

4. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Written and oral communication

     

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1.

Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.

2.

Arranges furnishings and equipment for the purpose of providing adequate

preparation for meetings, activities, and events.

3.

Attends in-service training (e.g., instruction on blood-borne pathogens, cleaning solvents, floor care, first aid, etc.) for the purpose of receiving information on new and/or improved procedures.

4.

Cleans assigned facility for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe, attractive environment.

5.

Cleans sidewalks and rakes leaves around facility for the purpose of providing an attractive, safe entrance/exit to buildings.

6.

Helps respond to immediate safety and operational concerns (e.g., facility damage, alarms, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action to resolve immediate safety issues.

7.

Inspects facility daily for the purpose of ensuring site is suitable for safe operation and maintained in attractive, clean condition and identifying any repairs necessary due to vandalism, equipment breakage, weather conditions, etc.

8.

Lifts up to 30 pounds unassisted for the purpose of lifting equipment necessary to complete assigned tasks.

9.

Performs work at heights of up to 12 feet using ladders and/or scaffolding for the purpose of cleaning, changing light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles, etc.

10.

Prepares facility for daily operations (i.e., opens gates and building access doors, disarms security systems, raises flags, performs minor repairs, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring facilities are operational and safe.

11.

Provides guidance, directions, and training to Custodians I and II for the purpose of helping them learn the tasks and responsibilities of their jobs.

12.

Secures facility and grounds for the purpose of minimizing property damage, equipment loss, and potential liability to the school district.

13.

Services job-related machinery/equipment (e.g., adjusts, cleans, and oils vacuum cleaners, scrubbers, buffers, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining equipment in good, working condition, including changing brushes, pads, rollers, etc.

14.

Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
