PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Instructional Assistant assists students under the direction of a certified professional VIRTUAL educator, manages classroom behavior, provides sound instructional support, and manages records such as attendance and grades. In partnership with virtual provider, assists with troubleshooting any issues with technology used for virtual learning in that classroom, and manages inventory of technology for the classroom.

1. Educational Level:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree with at least a 2.5 GPA.

2. Certification/License:
|

3. Experience:
|
Proficiency in using various forms of technology required; experience in the use of classroom technology (i.e. smartboard) preferred
|
4. Physical Activities:

Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities

Written and oral communication, instructional strategies that connect the curriculum to the learners; student management

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Conducts classroom activities in cooperation with the virtual teacher

Supervision of students

Assists with student assessment, grading work and tests and collects data on student progress

Responsible for routine record keeping

Prepares or assists with the preparation of materials for instruction

7.

Locates, operates, and returns equipment required for classroom activities
|
8.
|
Assists with classroom housekeeping
|
9.
|
Assists in the ordering and inventory of classroom equipment and materials
|
10.
|
Assists with school-wide supervision, such as loading/unloading buses
|
11.
|
Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress
|
12.
|
Adheres to local school procedures and regulations in a supportive manner; demonstrates loyalty to the school and its leadership; avoids behaviors which detract from staff morale; works cooperatively with colleagues and the community; promotes a positive school environment that enhances student learning; helps maintain a positive and cooperative climate

Assesses student needs, progress, expectations, goals, etc.

Collaborates with school personnel, parents and various community agencies
