Magnet Coordinator, Part Time

REPORTS TO:

Principal

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provides administrative process coordination to the principal, teachers, parents, and students ensuring Magnet requirements are being met.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

1. Educational Level:                      

Master's degree in job related field

2. Certification/License:                  

Must hold or meet criteria to obtain Georgia clear renewable certificate in Secondary Education; Master's level certification (T5).

3. Experience:                                

Must have five years of successful classroom teaching experience

4. Physical Activities:                      

Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities

5. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:       

Written and oral communication; organization; strong curriculum and technology background.

                                             

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Must be familiar with and able to promote an understanding of the Magnet Program.
  2. Assists personnel new to the program and acts as a resource to Magnet teachers as to training opportunities and materials.
  3. Effectively communicates and works with teacher teams in the development and review of curriculum documents
  4. Coordinates program orders, allocations and accounting for textbooks and materials.
  5. Develops and implements a plan for weekly staff development pertaining to the overall school program.
  6. Coordinates admissions for Magnet Program and directs and guides the Magnet curriculum.
  7. Communicates and works as the school liaison ensuring magnet requirements are being met.
  8. Coordinates all program correspondence and constructs annual Magnet Program calendar.
  9. Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
