This posting is to recruit for existing vacancies and/or positions that become available at our various schools.

 

Selected candidates will interview with a prescreening panel who will provide a list to Principals with vacancies.  This list will be used for the interview/recommendation process.

    

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Coordinates school's staff development activities and programs related to the content field facilitates onsite professional development sessions; serves as a member of the school's design/management team; provides model lessons for teachers; assists teachers in securing resources for carrying out school improvement plans; monitors teaching practices; and facilitates continuous assessment of student progress.

 

  

REQUIREMENTS:

 

1. Educational Level:                      

Masters Degree in job related field

2. Certification/License:                  

Valid Georgia Teacher certification or eligibility for GA certification; most hold current TSC endorsement.

3. Experience:                                

Three years successful teaching experience in a grade level served by the school

4. Physical Activities:                      

Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities

5. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:                

Written and oral communication; instructional strategies that connect the curriculum to the learners

                                             

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Assists teachers in designing and implementing lesson plans and assessments that reflect the use of Best Practices.
  2. Assists teachers in developing classroom management strategies that foster a climate conducive to academic achievement for students in all subgroups.
  3. Assists teachers in securing appropriate resources to implement the School Improvement Plan.
  4. Assists teachers in using flexible grouping to address academic deficiencies appropriately and providing opportunities to accelerate academic performance.
  5. Assists the school's leadership team in monitoring the implementation of actions and strategies included in the School Improvement Plan.
  6. Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
  7. Guides and assists grade levels in the development of teaching units and common assessments.
  8. Keeps current on information related to School Improvement which is published on the GaDOE website.
  9. Leads the school in providing extended time on task for students who do not meet GPS.
  10. Monitors the delivery of instruction to students in all subgroups within the school.
  11. Provides assistance to teachers in analyzing test data and student work.
  12. Provides model lessons for teachers in academic areas to identify effective instructional practices.
  13. Works closely with the principal in planning, implementing, and assessing reform efforts at the school level.
  14. Works with the school's leadership team to develop and implement a staff development plan that identifies professional development needs.
  15. Follows all county, state, and federal policies and procedures.
  16. Meets certification and accreditation standards.
  17. Seeks to improve through professional development and evaluation activities.
  18. Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
