This position is a grant funded part-time position. The position will be contingent from year-to-year upon availability of funds.

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The job of Dean of Students is done for the purpose/s of working closely with the principal, school personnel and students to build and maintain a positive, safe school climate. 

  

REQUIREMENTS:

 

1. Educational Level:                      

Bachelors Degree in job related field

2. Certification/License:                  

Valid Georgia Teacher certification and related training and experience

3. Experience:                                

Three successful years of experience in area of certification

4. Physical Activities:                      

Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities

5. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:                

Written and oral communication; leadership; student management

                                             

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

1.

Analyzes student discipline data regularly for the purpose of making data drive decisions.

2.

Assists staff with planning, developing, and implementing student behavior plans for the purpose of promoting positive behavior goals.

3.

Collaborates with staff to utilize evidence-based behavioral interventions for the purpose of promoting positive behavior.

4.

Collaborates with school leaders, counselors, and teachers for the purpose of developing positive behavioral strategies to support student academic success.

5.

Communicates with staff and parents/guardians regarding student behavior and expectations for the purpose of promoting student achievement.

6.

Conferences with students concerning Individualized Behavioral Plans for the purpose of supporting student growth and success.

7.

Daily attendance and punctuality are required for the purpose of ensuring the goals of the work unit can be met.

8.

Monitors student progress for the purpose of student growth and success.

9.

Participates in Leadership Team and SIP Team for the purpose of supporting student achievement.

10.

Provides and submits behavioral reports from the student management system for the purpose of providing information and monitoring results.

11.

Reinforces positive school behavioral expectations to ensure alignment with PBIS goals for the purpose of supporting student academic success.

12.

Serves on the PBIS and MTSS Team for the purpose of legal compliance.

13.

Performs other duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
