PRIMARY FUNCTION: The job of the Education Screening Technician is established for the purpose/s of assisting in the assessment process of students referred for interventions or for further evaluation to assist with determining eligibility for special education, observing students in the classroom; compiling and distributing a wide variety of material and reports; and administering academic tests under the guidance of the Lead Regional Psychologist.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Administers, scores, and prepares reports of assessments/rating scales of referred students for the purpose of assessing achievement (oral and written) and/or academic subjects that will assist the MTSS Teams, School Psychologists, and other certified professionals in providing appropriate services or accommodations.
- Maintains files and records (confidential and non-confidential), compiling pertinent information in assigned area for the purpose of ensuring accuracy of materials and complying with all federal/state/district regulations.
- Communicates verbally and in written form (e.g. memos, reports, letters, etc.) for the purpose of conveying assessment results to teachers, parents, health officials, and other appropriate personnel.
- Observes students in classrooms and testing environments for the purpose of reporting observed behaviors to school psychologist.
- Prepares reports of assessment results for the purpose of providing written support, developing recommendations and/or conveying information in accordance with established guidelines on a monthly and annual basis.
- Schedules student assessments for assigned schools and programs, and ensures appropriate testing environment for the purpose of evaluating students in accordance with valid assessment protocol and state requirements.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
- Daily attendance and punctuality are required for the purpose of ensuring the goals of the work unit can be met.
- Strong record keeping and clerical skills as well as knowledge of student assessments
