PRIMARY FUNCTION: The job of TITLE I PARENT LIAISON is done for the purpose/s of assuring parents and community members become active participants in student achievement. The Title I Parenting Liaison will collaborate with parents to help the school achieve its continuous improvement targets as well as short and long-range goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1.
|
Daily attendance and punctuality are required for the purpose of ensuring the goals of the Title I work unit can be met.
|
2.
|
Communicates with parents to keep them informed of school and/or community events that affect the child or their family for the purpose of raising academic achievement.
|
3.
|
Makes necessary home visits as authorized by the school principal for the purpose of addressing the needs of the family and student.
|
4.
|
Makes contacts with specific parents to discuss school issues that are specific to their children (e.g. attendance, discipline, academics, and social issues) for the purpose of providing important information that may have an impact on academic performances.
|
5.
|
Organizes parent/community volunteers for the school for the purpose of increasing support through involvement.
|
6.
|
Performs clerical tasks (e.g. managing data, organizing and maintaining files) for the purpose of keeping required documentation.
|
7.
|
Plans prepares for, and/or conducts training and workshops designed to increase the parents' ability to play a major role in a partnership with the school for the purpose of increasing academic achievement.
|
8.
|
Provides access to educational/literacy opportunities designed to increase the parents' capacity to support their children academically, emotionally, and economically for the purpose of raising academic achievement.
|
9.
|
Selects and obtains resources and services for parents for the purpose of empowering parents to assist their children in the learning process.
|
10.
|
Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the Title I work unit
