Primary Function: The job of HVAC Mechanic is done for the purpose/s of maintaining heating/air conditioning systems; identifying repair and/or replacement needs; providing necessary information on the proper uses of the equipment; and ensuring adequate materials are available to complete assignments in a timely manner.
Pay is prorated based upon start date.
REQUIREMENTS:

1. Educational Level:
|
High School Diploma or GED required
|
2. Certification/License Required:
|
Valid EPA Type II license required; Valid Driver’s License
|
3. Experience:
|
Minimum three years HVAC experience or technical college certificate/diploma in HVAC
|
4. Physical Activities:
|
Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities; able to work at heights using extension ladder, hydraulic lift or scaffolding; significant lifting is required.
|
5. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
|
Written and oral communication; knowledge of electrical codes, safety measures, and power requirements.
|
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1.

Daily attendance and punctuality are required for the purpose of ensuring the goals of the work unit.
|
2.
|
Coordinates with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.
|
3.
|
Diagnoses problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning/refrigeration systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and replacement needs.
|
4.
|
Installs heating/air conditioning/refrigeration equipment and systems for the purpose of providing comfort inside facilities.
|
5.
|
Maintains tools and/or equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment in safe, operating condition.
|
6.
|
Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information.
|
7.
|
Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items.
|
8.
|
Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
|
9.
|
Transports various items (e.g., tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
|
10.
|
Works on and repairs various systems (e.g., gauges, boilers, pumps, motors, chillers, etc.) for the purpose of restoring equipment to good working condition.

11.
|
Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient, effective functioning of the work unit.
