PRIMARY FUNCTION: The job of Plumber is done for the purpose/s of maintaining plumbing systems to provide comfort, sanitation, and safety within facilities; meeting appropriate trade-related accessibility codes for students, staff, and the public; meeting other building, safety, and health codes; and ensuring adequate materials are available for timely completion of job functions.
Pay is prorated based upon start date.
REQUIREMENTS:

1. Educational Level:
|
High School Diploma or GED
|
2. Certification/License Required:
|
Valid Driver’s License; Plumber licensing desired.
|
3. Experience:
|
Job related experience is required.
|
4. Physical Activities:
|
Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities; able to work at heights of up to 60 feet using extension ladder, hydraulic lift or scaffolding; significant lifting is required.
|
5. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
|
Written and oral communication; knowledge of general maintenance plumbing as well as knowledge of tools and practices of the trade

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1.
|
Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
|
2.
|
Coordinates with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently.
|
3
|
Diagnoses basic problems and/or failures in plumbing/irrigation systems for the purpose of identifying activities necessary to maintain equipment and systems (e.g., unstopping sinks and drains, replacing sinks and commodes, etc.).
|
4.
|
Diagnoses more complex plumbing problems (i.e., identifies leaks, pipes that need to be soldered, etc.) for the purpose of identifying repair and/or replacement needs; works with waterworks for the purpose of identifying underground leaks.
|
5.
|
Enters and exits crawl spaces without assistance for the purpose of completing repairs in confined areas.
|
6.
|
Installs plumbing systems and fixtures (e.g., hot water heaters, drinking fountains, etc.) to provide comfort, sanitation and safety within facilities.
|
7.
|
Prepares documentation providing written support and/or conveying information.
|
8.
|
Renovates plumbing systems to comply with building codes and meeting accessibility and functionality requirements of students, staff, and the public.
|
9.
|
Requests equipment and supplies to ensure maintaining availability of required items and completing jobs efficiently.
|
10.
|
Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
|
11.
|
Transports various items (e.g. tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) to ensure availability of materials required at job site.
|
12.
|
Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
