PRIMARY FUNCTION: The job of General Maintenance Worker is done for the purpose/s of maintenance services as needed and/or assigned; assisting in a wide variety of maintenance activities; addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns; assisting skilled trades; and ensuring that tools, materials and vehicles are maintained in good working order and are available at job site when needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

Educational Level: High School Diploma, GED
|

Certification/License Required: Valid Driver’s License
|

Experience: Job related experience is required
|

Physical Activities: Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities; able to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Written and oral communication; Operating equipment used in skilled trades, power and hand tools, etc.; adhering to safety practices; handling hazardous materials; planning and managing projects; flexibility to work under a variety of circumstances. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
|
2.
|
Arranges furniture and equipment in providing adequate preparations for special events.
|
3
|
Assists skilled maintenance workers with installing system component parts, classroom and office equipment and facility components (e.g. lighting, heating and ventilating systems, alarms, plumbing, security, electrical panels, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and workable environment.
|
4.
|
Assists skilled maintenance workers with projects (e.g. transporting and/or securing
materials, completing specific tasks, etc.) for the purpose of completing projects in a safe, efficient manner.
|
5.
|
Cleans district buildings and grounds areas as needed and/or assigned to provide an
effective working/learning environment, preventing damage and/or limiting liability
exposure.
|
6.
|
Coordinates with skilled tradesmen and/or assigned supervisor(s) to ensure the completing of projects and work orders efficiently.
|
7.
|
Maintains assigned vehicle, tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability in safe operating condition.
|
8.
|
Participates in meetings, workshops, trainings, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
|
9.
|
Performs a wide variety of general and semiskilled maintenance activities (e.g. carpentry, painting, electrical, etc.) for the purpose of completing projects within established time frames.
|
10.
|
Prepares written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, work orders, etc.) for the
purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.
|
11.
|
Repairs furniture and building system components for the purpose of ensuring a safe working condition.
|
12.
|
Transports various items (e.g. tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) to ensure availability of materials required at job site.
|
13.
|
Responds to out of office emergency situations during and after hours under the direction of Leaderman or supervisor for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
|
14.
|
Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
